Because of the ongoing federal government funding lapse, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits—formerly known as food stamps—may be unavailable starting November 1st.

Residents can check their current benefit balances using the ebtEDGE app or by calling the customer service number on the back of their EBT card.

The Craven County Department of Social Services did not play a role in the decisions that could affect benefit distribution. SNAP benefits are not issued directly by the County. For questions or updates regarding benefits, please contact the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services at (800) 662-7030.

Craven County does not have an alternative benefit program. However, several local food pantries are available to assist residents. A list of some pantries is provided below. Please note this list is not comprehensive, and operating days and hours may vary. Phone numbers are included where available to confirm details.
