The final trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has arrived, giving fans a fresh look at the long-awaited sequel while debuting “Runway,” a brand-new collaboration from Lady Gaga and Doechii (stream the song: HERE.)
Lady Gaga not only contributes to the soundtrack but also appears in the film in a supporting role, marking her return to the big screen following “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Runway, her collaboration with Doechii, adds a contemporary edge to the sequel film – blending music and fashion in a way that reflects the industry’s current evolution.
Set nearly two decades after the original, the sequel revisits Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs, Emily, and Nigel as they step back into the fast-moving world of ‘Runway’ magazine in New York City. This time, the story centers on a dramatically changed media landscape. With print journalism fading, Miranda must adapt to digital platforms, influencers, and shifting industry power dynamics.
Andy, who famously walked away from Runway in the first film, is now back—this time as an editor—reuniting with Miranda under complicated circumstances. The trailer hints that she may play a key role in helping the publication navigate a crisis. Meanwhile, Emily, once Miranda’s overworked assistant, has reinvented herself as a powerful executive at a luxury brand, placing her in direct competition with her former boss.
The core cast returns, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. The sequel also expands its ensemble with newcomers such as Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Simone Ashley, Kenneth Branagh—who is expected to portray Miranda’s husband—along with Pauline Chalamet, Rachel Bloom, Patrick Brammall, and others.
The film’s release lands just ahead of the annual Met Gala in New York. To celebrate, a special print edition of Runway magazine will also be released, available in select cities and online.
