February 27th- Kappa Delta Sorority Shamrock 5k and Pasta Dinner

February 27th- Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation's 6th Annual Gala

The Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation will be hosting it's 6th Annual Gala at the Havelock Tourist and Events Center at 5:30p. Tickets are available for $50 each or 2 for $90. The Flame will provide plated dinner and there will be a cash bar. More information at www.ecaviationheritage.com. 

March 7th- Oyster Roast Fundraiser for a Bereavement Camp for Children

There will be an Oyster Roast Fundraiser to benefit Camp Cocoon. Camp Cocoon is a children's outreach program of the PruittCares Foundation. Their goal is to open the first Camp Cocoon in New Bern to help children that have lost a loved one. The fundraiser will be held at the Isaac Taylor Garden from 12p-3p. Advanced tickets are $30 and $35 the day of. Tickets can be purchased at 810 Kennedy Ave behind the Sonic, First South Bank, and Mitchells Hardware in New Bern.

March 7th- Special Education Alliance for Eastern North Carolina Children's Health Fair

SEAL4ENC is all about empowering special needs family and helping them find the resources in order to provide the best quality of life for their children. It's our hopes to bridge the gap between providers and families in order to show not only the families, but the providers that their is a need.

March 10th- 2015 Taste of Coastal Carolina

The 2015 Taste of Coastal Carolina returns to the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center to benefit the Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation. Tasting starts at 6:30PM with samples from many local restaurants. Tickets available for purchase at Mitchell Hardware, Harris Teeter, Village Butcher, Cravin' Wine, and Nautical Wheelers. More info at www.neuseriver.org. 

March 14th- 24th Annual Emerald Isle St. Patrick's Festival

24th Annual Emerald Isle St. Patrick’s Festival is proudly presented by Transportation Impact on Saturday, March 14th from 9am-6pm at the Emerald Plantation shopping center. Admission and parking are free for the festival. This year’s festival will feature over 75 arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, Oak Grove Stables petting zoo and rides, clowns and static displays along with amusement rides, face painters, and many other fun family-oriented activities. Festival goers can also enjoy a beer garden. The Little Ms. & Mr. Leprechaun Contest will take place on the main stage at 9am. The contest is for boys and girls ages 2-3 and 4-5 and requires pre-registration by 12pm on Thursday, March 12th at 12pm. Space for the contest is limited to 20 participants.

March 14th- Aspire's 1st Annual Father Daughter Dance

Aspire is hosting its 1st annual father daughter dance at the Jacksonville USO on March 14, 2015.  Time is from 6-8 pm, Tickets are $20.00 per couple and $5.00 per extra child.  Tickets can be purchased at Jacksonville Beauty Supply Store, GQ Barbershop, Platinum Cuts Barbershop, and Headz up Barbershop.  Tickets must be purchased in advance. March 21st- Bishop 5k for a Cause

There will be a 5k Run/Walk that will be held on campus at NC Wesleyan and will begin in front of the Taylor Recreation Center. Proceeds benefit My Sister's House (a local domestic abuse shelter), Lyme Disease Association of North Carolina, and also the NCWC tennis team and EXS student organization. Each participant will receive a t-shirt.  There will be raffle prizes, a prize to the winner, snacks, water stations, and a DJ playing music throughout the run and afterwards for dancing. March 28th- JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes

The JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes brings people together in a healthy activity for a worthy goal. The Walk is fun for families and builds camaraderie among company employees. The walk provides hope, empowerment and a sense of community. Your participation shows your commitment to the large scale movement to conquer type 1 diabetes one step at a time.  Take your first step by registering today! The Walk to Cure Diabetes will take place Saturday, March 28th at the Greenville Convention Center.  Registration begins at 8:30am. March 28th- Squealin' for a Cure 5k

The Squealin’ for a Cure 5 K Glow Run is back again on March 28th! This event is hosted by the Murphy Brown Relay for Life team, and timed by Run the East. The route is through downtown historic Kenansville and surrounding residential areas. Black light areas and a community decoration contest will provide entertainment along the route. A costume contest, vendors, food, children’s play area, and a DJ will keep you busy at the start/finish area. There is a Diaper Dash for children 3 & under, a 1 mile Fun Run for children 4-10 years of age.  This family friendly event offers a little something for everyone while providing a challenging route for the serious runner. United Way of Onslow County is proud to present the Vine & Dine: A Taste of the Town Event. April 24-25- Relay for Life

Grover C. Fields Middle School in New Bern will once more host the Relay for Life. This is a family-friendly overnight fundraising event that brings a community together to raise awareness of those who have been touched by cancer. During this event there will be participants walking the track from Opening Ceremony until the Closing Ceremony.Opening Ceremony will begin at 7pm with survivors/caregivers (those who have had cancer and a loved one who helped to take care of them.) At 9pm we light the track for the Luminary Ceremony to honor and remember loved ones. More info click here.
